MCSA: Windows 2016 Badge

The Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA): Windows Server 2016 is an intermediate level certification that covers skills required to manage Windows Server 2016 operating system, client-server structure, network infrastructure, virtualization, domain management, security implementation, etc.

The NYBI’s MCSA: Windows Server 2016 course provides students varieties of hands-on lab exercises. Each students use at least one Dell PowerEdge physical server. Plus, utilizing not only Microsoft Hyper-V virtual technologies but also VMWare, students can manipulate multiple servers and clients simultaneously.

Curriculum

Focusing on Windows Server 2016 installation and configurations, this unit covers the initial implementation and configuration of core services including:

  • Install Windows Servers in host and compute environments

  • Maintain and monitor server environment

Focusing on networking features and functionality available in Windows Server 2016, this unit covers the skills necessary to maintain a Windows Server 2016 network infrastructure such as:

  • Implement IP Address Management (IPAM)
  • VPN and Direct Access
  • Implement network connectivity and remote access solutions
  • DFS and BranchCache solutions
  • high performance network features and functionality
  • Software-defined networking (SDN) solutions
  • Hyper-V Network Virtualization (HNV) and Network Controller

Focusing on the identity functionality in Windows Server 2016, this unit covers the installation and configuration of:

  • Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS)
  • Group Policy
  • Active Directory Certificate Services (AD CS)
  • Active Directory Federations Services (AD FS)
  • Web Application proxy implementations
