CIT2 Certification Logos

The CIT2 - IT Engineer program focusing on Cyber Security is the advanced training course which covers CompTIA Security+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and CCNA Security certification topics.

At the end of the course students will be able to secure computer, network and corporate environments, develop and maintain Cisco routers and switches and a security infrastructure.

The NYBI's CIT2 provides students plenty of hands-on lab exercises throughout the course. Utilizing VMWare and Hyper-V, students can set up and manipulate multiple clients and servers simultaneously.

IT Engineer Curriculum

IT Engineer Syllabus

Students will learn the knowledge and skills required to secure computer, network and corporate environments including network security, compliance and operational security, threats and vulnerabilities, application, data and host security, access control and identity management, cryptography, etc.

Students will learn how to install, configure and operate simple-routed LAN, routed WAN and switched LAN networks to increase bandwidth, improve response times and enhance reliability and quality of service. In addition, students will learn techniques that can save employers' time and money by reducing network downtime, addressing network security issues, and ensuring maximum network performance.

Students will learn how to to recognize threats and vulnerabilities, develop and maintain a security infrastructure, and mitigate security threats. This includes installing, monitoring and troubleshooting of network devices to maintain security of data and devices, and competency in its security structure.

Certification Exams

This course prepares students for the following exams:


  • High School Diploma/ GED, and prior completion of the CIT1, Network+ or equivalent level of knowledge.

Occupational Objectives

Upon completion of the course, students will be qualified to be a security engineer, security administrator, systems architect, network administrator or network engineer.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

A student who cancels within 7 days of signing the enrollment agreement but before instruction begins receives all monies returned with the exception of the non-refundable registration fee.
Thereafter, a student will be liable for:

  1. The non-refundable registration fee plus,
  2. The cost of any textbooks or supplies accepted plus,
  3. Tuition liability as of the student's last date of physical attendance.
If termination occurs:
Prior to or during the first week
During the second week
During the third week
During the fourth week
After the fourth week
