NYBI offers ESL programs for students whose first language is not English. The courses include instruction in reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary. English as a Second Language (ESL) courses range from beginning through intermediate levels.
Students accepted into the ESL course are tested and placed into one of four programs based on the English language skills they already possess.
You must take the Basic English Skills Test (BEST). No appointment is necessary for the test, and the results and placement information are provided at the end of your visit.
Bring your Instructor Placement form to the school office. This form was provided to you by your instructor after the end of your last class.
