CIT 3The CIT3 - Linux and Exchange Program consists of two different topics.
The Linux part covers CompTIA Linux+ certification and Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC) Level 1.
The Exchange part covers Microsoft MCSE: Messaging certification


LPIC 101
4 weeks
Instructor-led: 60 hours
Lab: 12 hours
Students will learn the basic concepts of Linux operating system and learn how to install Linux, manage files and directories, work effectively with files, use text editors, and take advantage of the Linux shell. Students also receive an introduction to the RPM facility, and learn how to use the X-Windows system.
LPIC 102
3 weeks
Instructor-led: 45 hours
Lab: 9 hours
Students will learn how to manage small to medium sized site, plan, implement, maintain, keep consistent, secure, and troubleshoot a mixed (MS, Linux) network, including SAMBA, firewall, proxy, mail, news, web, FTP server.
Core Solutions of Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 2 weeks
Instructor-led: 30 hours
Lab: 6 hours
Focusing on core solutions of Exchange Server 2013, this unit covers topics such as installing, configuring Exchange Server 2013, Mailbox server, Client Access Server and Message Transport. Also covers recipients, groups, and mailboxes; setting up connectors; monitoring system performance and client connectivity.
Advanced Solutions of Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 2 weeks
Instructor-led: 30 hours
Lab: 6 hours
Focusing on advanced solutions with Exchange Server 2013, this unit covers topics such as unified messaging, server high availability, content filtering, security-enhanced messaging, migration and management strategies, backup and recovery server role, storage group, antivirus, anti-spam, messaging compliance, and network layer security implementations and patch and service packs
Total 11 weeks

Lab: 33 hours

Certification Exams

This course prepares students for the following exams:


High School Diploma/ GED, and completion of the CIT1, MCSA or equivalent level of knowledge.

Occupational Objectives

Upon completion of the course, students will be qualified to be a system administrator, server administrator, UNIX/Linux administrator or enterprise messaging administrator. .
